I'm not so sure I agree with this, at least not completely. I actually *do* believe that we should all seek happiness. I also happen to believe that we've got some serious problems in the world (and right here at home). Personally, I don't see a disconnect between doing what is necessary to make oneself "happy" and doing what is necessary (or at least possible within the bounds of personal circumstances) to help others out of the misery that can be the world.
