My mother tried hard to get me to keep my room neat when I was a kid and basically gave up. As I got older I generally allowed only specific areas to become 'wilderness.' Strangely I could always find what I wanted in the wilderness far more easily than I could in the neat areas. I think everyone should have some chaos in their lives.
