Never, ever use glue traps

p3092124-california-towhee-cabnm

We had a California Towhee stuck in one we put down trying to get the rats out of the siding on our spa.

Never, ever again…. it’s so awful. These things are cruel.

Fortunately our neighbor does bat rescue and has managed to clean it up — the secret is to use a mild art wash cleaner. Hubby is taking it to Project Wildlife to take care of it and for rehab.

  1. Hi casey,

Yeah, I had no idea. I don’t want the rats in my yard tearing it up, but I hated seeing that poor bird get hurt. And I guess even the rats deserve better than that. I really didn’t know…

  2. Our rats are hella smart. I don’t want to have to kill them either, but I don’t want them eating my spa.

We’ve set traps and for two weeks now, they haven’t touched them. These are Norways, and boy are they smart. They have a huge stash of olives we found, and even with setting the traps around those, they haven’t touched them at all. Sigh.

May have to get some of that fox pee stuff or something….
