Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

  1. Donna!

I completely forgot you, I’m ashamed! I’ve been so busy working for school, my dissertation, papers, presentations, … My Master year is killing me. My Bachelor was not so hard, but this year is just too much … :/

How is life across the ocean? I’m truly glad to see who will be your next president! (although I must admit that the financial crisis was his winning strike, otherwise it would have been the other way around, I guess)

How’s that chocolate? Did it ever arrive actually? I never got any answer from the postal office, so I guess they lost it somewhere, somehow, … typically …

I’ve been talking with Casey Kochmer about things and life and all that’s going around. Seems he’s doing his thing too 🙂

I hope to hear you soon. Let me know if that chocolate did arrive? Otherwise, I’ll see what I can do.

PS: Maybe a stupid question, but do you know anyone who’s selling his First Generation Iphone? My roomie is looking for one and we only have 3G here, which sells for about $900

    Hear you soon!
    Bert

  2. No worries, Bert! You are a busy young man with a wonderful life and a hot girlfriend, who could blame you? ;^)

The hard work will pay off, and once it is over, you may actually miss it, strange as that seems.

We are all excited here about our next President, and relieved, of course. McCain would have been disastrous from an economic standpoint. With Obama we have a chance. He makes people hopeful and optimistic about the future, which, really, is what we need. And with Democrats in charge all the way around, he may even get things done. It could be good.

Never saw a package. But thanks for trying. I’m sure the postal workers enjoyed the chocolate. ;^)

Casey seems to be doing great, with his new place and enjoying Hawaii. I think I would enjoy it until I went crazy looking for something new to do. Go to the beach, go to the mountains, go to the beach, go to the mountains… At least in San Diego there are endless things to do. But after 23 years, I’m finally kinda bored here, too. Once our economy recovers, maybe a nice trip to Europe. ;^)

Don’t know about iPhones, you might look on Apple’s site for a refurbished one. Sometimes I find older Mac items there. Or Ebay, of course. Seem to be some for around $350 there.
