I’m strangely looking forward to visiting here

Here’s a look at a Paris Flea Market (Le marche aux puces)

  1. Try not to miss La Poilane. The most famous bakery in the world. It’s on the left bank. People have their bread flown all over the world. The country boule is the big round one and is wonderful. Sometimes you can get a tour of the actual ovens in the basement.

Try and avoid the big touristy restaurants and go for the small neighborhood ones. the bistros with a fixed menu and a fixed price. Much better value. One of my favorite places is in the opera district and I guess it is still there “a Deux Canard. They specialize is food made with citrus. Duck l’orange etc. Very small and you may find the door locked but just knock and if they like the way you look they may let you in.

Great city and the only better one for food in France is Lyon which is a foodie version of heaven.

  2. Yes, fallenmonk that’s the plan. I tend to avoid most extremely touristy things as a rule. It’s amazing the things even here in San Diego that I’ve never done, or rarely do! We just recently rejoined the Zoo after a lapse of several years, and that mainly because a friend works there now. I’m sure we’ll see the usual sights, but mostly want to see the smaller musee and soak up the sun (hopefully there will be sun!) in the local cafes and bistros!
