The Tao of the Self — Ten

Carrying your spirit, embracing your body, mind and soul,
Are you able to live without separating them now?
Concentrating your spirit and becoming tender,
Can you be as open as a child?
Clearing your vision,
Can you see without flaws now?
Loving others, can you lead them
without imposing your will?
Can you accept Heaven’s gifts
as well as you accept your losses?
When you can see clearly in all directions,
how can you still be unknowing?
Giving birth to your ideas and nourishing them,
Bearing them into the world but not possessing them,
Doing your work but not demanding it from others,
Developing yourself and inspiring others,
This is the Primal Virtue.
